Sales Engineer

What are you going to do?

As a Sales Engineer you are responsible for the sales of Volvo Penta engines. You will be given set but realistic sales targets, taking into account the market and business operations. You must have a good dose of diesel and electrical engineering knowledge and strong commercial skills.

Within this position you will handle the entire sales process, from quote request to delivery. You will also work closely with the service department to realize the commissioning within the set specifications, quality requirements, schedules and budgets.

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Advising customers;
  • Drawing up customer and product specific quotations;
  • Support the customer with engineering issues during the sales process;
  • Preparatory work and internal coordination of the commissioning work;
  • Visiting potential new customers;
  • Analyzing markets, identifying trends and mapping them;
  • Periodically visit existing relations and inform them about products and market developments.


We are looking for a candidate with the following requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of diesel and electrical engineering through an HBO education;
  • At least 3 years of work experience with diesel engines in a similar position;
  • Experience with application engineering is an advantage;
  • Commercial institution;
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented and project-oriented manner;
  • In possession of a driving license B;
  • Knowledge of the English language, spoken and written (German language is an advantage).
